2012 Horoscope Forecast
Sagittarius, the Archer in 2012
better health and relationships
The big news this year is that due to retrograde motion, Mars will be in Virgo and your 10th house of career and public reputation until July 3rd. Mars is the driving force behind our desires and ambitions, and while in Virgo, you may feel especially compelled to create a perfect system in your career environment. Many of you will be on the warpath both at
work and at home while you attempt to implement your improvements. However, the tendency to get overwhelmed by the details and miss the big picture is a danger here. Also, you may find yourself on the receiving end of someone in power who wants to 'update' your performance.
Mars will turn retrograde on Jan. 24th, giving you and opportunity to research and reflect on any changes you want to make. Don't expect to move forward at this time… it's better to have a chance to review your techniques and procedures before launching anything big. After Mars turns direct on April 14th, you'll be able to share your plans in the best
During the first half of the year, your life ruler Jupiter's blessing will be felt in your 6th house of health and service. This is a great time to explore ways to improve your daily routine and working conditions. It's easier to get along with coworkers while everyone is feeling convivial, and this in turn contributes to a better sense of health and
well-being. One word of caution: It will also be easy to gain weight due to frequent opportunities to share meals! Make sure your dining choices are kind to your body and the planet.
By the time Jupiter enters versatile Gemini and your 7th house of marriage and partnerships on June
11th, many of you will be ready for a more lasting commitment. Going into business with a close friend or significant other may also be on the horizon, increasing the time you spend together. In negative manifestations, someone significant in your life may become emotionally overwhelming. Be sure to establish and maintain healthy boundaries in all of your relationships so to keep Jupiter's
expansive nature in balance.
Saturn remains in Libra and your 11th house of friends and associates for most of the year, making you more likely to create serious connections than light-hearted ones. Friendships that no longer fit who you have become will come to an end naturally (and possibly painfully, but an end nonetheless), and new ones will be made that reflect your goals and
ambitions. If you are in a position of responsibility and leadership among your peers, you will be able to carry your duties out with grace and diplomacy. Although you are often known for having “Foot in Mouth Disease”, Saturn in Libra brings out your most gracious, equitable qualities.
Once the Great Taskmaster enters Scorpio and your 12th house of subconscious matters October 5th, it will be time to look within. What is no longer working well in your life? It will be time to review and reflect in preparation for a new cycle that will begin during the last week of 2014.
Relationships: the Journey to the Heart
The year begins on a friendly note as Venus lightens up your 3rd house of community. Neighbors and siblings are especially supportive and sociable, making your daily comings and goings more pleasant. The weekend of the 13th is good for gatherings as compassionate Neptune joins forces with peaceloving Venus. After January 14th, the planet of love lights up
your 4th house of home and family, creating tension with Mars in your 10th house of career and public responsibilities. The demands of your career are in conflict with the needs of your family, making it hard for you to fully enjoy either.
Mars turns retrograde on
Jan. 24th, so what happens now will continue to fester for the next 6 months. Venus enters Aries and your 5th house of romance and creativity on Feb. 9th, making this a great time to get out and have some fun. Those of you with children should be sure to spend more time with them as those relationships always require attention, no matter what age they are!
With Saturn still lingering in your 11th house of friends and associates, chances are you've been all work and no play lately. After March 5th, sensual Venus in Taurus enters 6th house of health and service, inviting you to indulge a bit. Be careful not to overdo it as Jupiter's jolly
presence here can contribute to excessive weight gain… if you are wondering why your pants are tight, it could be that you have simply enjoyed too much of a good thing. Moderation!
On April 3rd, Venus moves into your 7th house of marriage and partnerships, where she will linger for some time to come due to the Venus retrograde cycle. Your relationships come into focus for better or for worse, and if there is an issue that needs to be addressed, this is the time to do so. However, with Mars rumbling in your 10th house
of career and reputation, you may find that it is hard to make the time you need to spend improving your closest relationships. This will be a balancing act, but one of the most important things you accomplish all year.
Jupiter will join Venus in June, giving you a chance to focus more
on your love life. Weddings and other special events are favored so take some well-deserved vacation time. An Eclipse on June 4th will illuminate everything you have been working towards, and what happens around that time continue to impact you through November.
Intimacy and other people's resources are important issues once Venus enters clannish Cancer and your 8th house of sex and death on August 7th. The Archer is rarely shy or sensitive when it comes to the bedroom, but when you establish and maintain a loving relationship this contributes to your emotional security. It is a great time to discuss your deepest
feelings with your lover and trade secrets, building on your trust in each other.
After Sept. 6th, popular Venus enters charismatic Leo and your 9th house of travel, urging you to get out and see the world! If you have in-laws to contend with, you can easily make peace with them now.
Single Archers will find this is the perfect time to meet other singles, especially while travelling or attending classes.
The focus turns to your career again after Oct. 3rd, when Venus moves into Virgo and your 10th house of reputation. Fortunately, this time you should be able to reap the rewards of all your hard work! A raise or promotion is not undeserved. Venus then moves into civilized Libra and your 11th house of friends and associates on Oct. 28th, urging you to mingle.
During the last week of November, Venus joins Saturn in your 12th house of secrets and solitude, urging you to slow down and recharge your spiritual batteries. This may be your birthday month, but you may not feel like celebrating just yet. Be compassionate towards yourself and others
as you end the old year and prepare to begin the new. As the year ends, Venus sparkles in your 1st house of personality, giving you the energy you need to be the life of the party again. Cheers!
Home and Family
As mentioned, Mars retrograde in Virgo will have a big impact on you this year, and one place you will feel it strongly is at home. Pressing issues at work and in your public life may keep you from spending the time you need to meet your responsibilities under your own roof. And to top it all off, Neptune enters Pisces and your 4th house of home and family
on Feb. 3rd, ushering in more than a decade of emphasis on your personal life.
Just when you are feeling the need to retreat into the folds of your family, Mars insists that you lead the charge on the career battlefield. Your challenge this year will be to create a place of peaceful
retreat and spiritual strength at home so that you can meet the demands of your public life. The key lies in finding the balance. If you don't, you may find Neptune manifesting in negative ways. Water and gas leaks in the home are not uncommon during this transit.
Work and Health
This year is all about work and health as Mars and Jupiter harmonize. Even with all the demands on you now, you can depend on a strong constitution and work ethic to get you through. The danger is in having too much of a good thing and becoming overconfident in your abilities to meet deadlines and carry workloads.
It is imperative that you find a way to balance your work duties with your health needs. Go easy on the corporate lunches and heavy on the time you spend in the office gym… or at least avoid the fast food fix and spend more time walking or cycling to where you need to be. Pay special
attention to this year's Solar and Lunar Eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius, because those will be the times when situations reach critical mass.
In March, Jupiter harmonizes well with powerful Pluto in your 2nd house of finances, practically guaranteeing that you will have what you need and more to make ends meet. Make the most of this opportunity, because Pluto is a fickle master and is just as likely to leave you penniless as to bring you riches.
One of the things the Lord of the Underworld demands is that your values are in line with the work you are doing. It may be time to re-evaluate your goals to keep them in line with what you truly hold dear in life. You will truly be reaping what you sow in the coming years, so plan now
for possible times of both feast and famine as Pluto remolds you.
Ah, Mercury retrogrades! You can expect the Winged Messenger to go retrograde three times a year for about three weeks each time. During retrogrades, you can expect miscommunication, delays in travel, and breakdowns in machinery and appliances. Usually these breakdowns are due to neglect or lack of attention to detail and the retrograde period simply brings
this to the surface. It's often a good idea to hold off on making any important decisions, purchases, or signing contracts when Mercury is retrograde. Brides planning weddings should certainly consult an astrologer to avoid scheduling the Big Day during a retrograde! On the positive side, Mercury retrograde is excellent for research and investigation. It is a time to go over everything carefully,
looking for loopholes, mistakes, and weaknesses. Here are this year's Mercury retrogrades and how they are likely to impact you:
March 12th – April 4th Mercury Retrograde in Pisces, 4th House
You can expect the tension under your roof to increase as confusion reigns during this retrograde period. It's bad enough that nebulous Neptune has clouded the waters in your 4th house of home and family, but adding accident-prone retro Mercury to the mix is a recipe for disaster. You will need to make absolutely sure that everyone is on the same page and
that you have checked, rechecked, and checked again for safety. After April 4th, the lines of communication clear up, helping you to steer your mother ship into safe harbor.
July 15th – August 8th Mercury Retrograde in Leo, 9th House
Travel snafus are to be expected as Mercury moves backwards in your 9th house of travel, so if you plan a trip for this period, don't say you weren't warned. Educational and legal matters may also be held up, so do what you can to research any issues you need to master. Once Mercury turns direct again on Aug. 8th, you will be able to get back on track with
your itinerary. Bon voyage!
November 6th – 26th Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio, 12th House
Mercury retrograde in your 12th house of secrets and solitude may have you feeling vaguely uneasy. It won't help that it seems everywhere you go make one Freudian slip after another. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar… but during this retrograde, you are likely to blurt out whatever you've been repressing. Be sure to keep a dream journal by your bed so that
you can write down any clues your sleeping mind may reveal. After Mercury turns direct on Nov. 26th, you will be ready to understand your subconscious motivations.
Lunar Life with Lady Moon
Your Full Moon happens on June 4th, and will represent the culmination of what began back in late November 2011. This time, your good standing at work and in the community should be obvious. You have been working hard for what you've got and should not back down in the face of opposition. Any valid criticisms can be discussed and considered
but should by no means be considered a defeat!
Your personal New Moon occurs on December 13th, signaling new beginnings for you. This is a time to reflect upon the events of the past year and set your intentions for your own personal new year, which begins with your birthday. A lot of change has taken place and you may be ready to reveal a new, more refined you to the world. Cheers!
Eclipses indicate change in the area of life they impact, and are often felt for much longer than regular lunations. In cases where the eclipse makes a close aspect to planets or angles in your chart, they can be felt for up to a year. Here is what to look for during the eclipse cycle of 2012:
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini on May 20th may trigger critical issues at work, so be prepared for a stressful week. Be willing to give your partner or mate support as needed, as he or she may be under a great deal of stress as well. This is one of those times where you may as well laugh, because if you didn't, you would
cry. Try to see humor in all things.
A Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on June 4th only solidifies changes that began with the New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini two weeks earlier. Your closest relationships could suffer and your health is strained under duress, so it is imperative that you take time out for yourself and for your loved one's benefit. Venus
is still retrograde, making it hard to express yourself with your partner. This too shall pass.
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on Nov. 13th may find you feeling vaguely uncomfortable as it connects with Saturn in your 12th house of hidden motivations. With Mercury retrograde, it may be harder than even to express how you feel or put a finger on what might be bothering you. You are facing the ending of the old so that
there will be room for the new, and it is natural to be slightly off balance during this time.
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on Nov. 28th echoes what was begun during the New Moon and Solar Eclipse on May 20th, when your personal relationships and your career were at odds. The good news is that by now, there has been enough of a Cosmic shift for you to see the path ahead more clearly. Old obstacles are moving
away and new, stronger support systems are being built.
That's it for 2012, Sagittarius. I hope the article has been helpful. Keep up with our daily, weekly and monthly predictions throughout the year.
