December 2009 PISCES MONTHLY HOROSCOPE FORECASTS by Neil Giles
Neil Giles is a storyteller, astrologer and historian. He is a novelist and journalist and has written for theatre, radio and television, as well as many articles for Astrology on the Web. His passion for mythology and the ancient traditions has led him on a journey through Astrology, Tarot, the Runes and the Celtic Ogham Script as a seeker and personal reader. He is the author of a number of works on Celtic and Teutonic spirituality, including Odin's Runes and The Oracle of the Trees. For Neil, the storyteller's path reminds us that while the wisdom of the past still lives, we can take wise action now and in the future. Always a traveller, Neil now flourishes under the subtropical climes of Murwillumbah in northern New South Wales, a lovely spot on the Eastern seaboard of Australia.
With the Sun in Sagittarius, profession, career or responsibility feature. With Venus in there too from Dec 1, you'll socialise for business, mix work and pleasure, or deal with the public. Dec 2 brings a Full Moon in Gemini that strikes up waves of feeling with home or family, as they vie with the demands of career or responsibility. There are issues to address, either with authority or about it. Let things cool; use the strategy of hidden forces, plans or powers to bring them into line. Dec 5 sees Mercury to Capricorn, shifting the focus to friends, groups or community involvement. Pressing demands may override the personal. You'll set a course or make a commitment. If you've worked on skills or hidden talents, it's time to let them see the light of day. Dec 14 will bring disruption or tension, as you deal with authority or a professional matter. Whether you're above or below in the chain of command, don't lose patience.
A new line of responsibility or career activity emerges with the New Moon in Sagittarius on Dec 16. You'll form a new link. Dec 20 will bring stresses with professional dealings or the public and, as Mars reverses in Leo the same day, work or health matters will be testing or tested. Watch safety and walk warily when dealing with angry males or sharp edges. Don't leave yourself with too much to do in too little time. If you're neglecting work for health or vice versa, shift the balance or pay a price.
Friends or groups will feature with the Sun in Capricorn and the Solstice on Dec 21. You'll shine a new light or new connections will alter the way you are perceived. Social activity will feature as Venus hits Capricorn on Christmas Day. Follow the behest of protocol and respect the limits of what is possible. Stick to 'down to earth' pleasures in the festive season, but be ready to alter plans at a moment's notice, as Mercury reverses in Capricorn on Boxing Day. If there are arrangements, be sure everybody knows the timetable and venue. As the old year fades, a Lunar Eclipse comes with the Full Moon in Cancer. Prepare for a shift or an end with lifestyle or family. Welcome in the New Year with a shift in daily routines.
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury enters Capricorn on Dec 5, focusing on contacts with friends or a place in the wider community. You'll sacrifice personal pleasures or involvements for the sake of something to which you are committed. Associations, new or old, will be the life-blood of the future, so forge connections. You've something new to give and that will come clear at the heart of the festive season. Don't be too quick off the mark though, as Mercury reverses on Dec 26. Friends or contacts will be absent or delayed. A project or an interest will go on hold when pressing matters call. Make a strong decision but don't sign on the dotted line. Feel your way ahead. The Accomplished Way
Navigate a keen path through a forest of authorities, the public and professional links. The pressure's on in a social sense but you'll have the means to deal with it, as long as you keep emotional or family matters in balance. You'll have more resources to bring to bear than you think. It's a little wild or worrying on Dec 20 but, if you stay calm, the shifts you face will be easier with time. Christmas Day brings Venus to Capricorn and friends to the table, though there'll be absences or constraints. Enjoy the true spirit of the day but keep tabs on spending.
Mars Retrograde
Mars is in Leo, ready for a long stay but set to reverse on Dec 20. If you're going backward in work or health, change what you do from a physical, creative or stress point of view. Don't take risks with safety or activity at work, but fire up if you need an exercise or health regime. Watch relations with co-workers, as there'll be tension or sparks. You may be frustrated over sexual interests at work. Enjoy creative action, dance or drama, or look for a change in work if you find you're not getting the juice from what you do. Be patient and apply changes slowly. Read more on Mars Retrograde!
