 Planetary Influences Make Sense of It
To set the scene for an examination of Clinton's solar return, the impact of some more general influences needs to be considered. These influences affect Clinton himself, as well as the other main players in this unfolding drama, while powerful retrograde planetary cycles (which give rise to planetary stations) emerge to dog their footsteps.
The effects of the unusual series of new and full moons, from the end of July to the beginning of September, were devastating. Running one person's solar return chart against the natal chart of another marks out the interaction between the two people for the ensuing year. Strong contacts between the solar return charts and the natal charts of the main players were stimulated over this period. Ken Starr and Monica Lewinski have their birthdays within two days of each other, so their solar returns have very similar aspect patterns.
Lewinski's solar return Venus falls on Clinton's natal Mid-Heaven, while her solar return Mercury falls on Clinton's Sun. Kenneth Starr's solar return Ascendant falls on Clinton's natal Mid-Heaven and his solar return Mercury also falls close to Clinton's Sun. Obviously their thoughts and communications are focused on Bill Clinton the man, while Lewinski's notions of love and Starr's personal direction are affecting the President's career and ambitions.
Clinton's solar return Mercury falls on Starr's natal retrograde Mercury (a battle of wits) and his solar return Mars falls on Starr's natal Sun/Saturn (the President is 'at war' with the special prosecutor). Clinton's solar return Moon falls on Lewinski's natal Sun, while his solar return Neptune also opposes her Sun. This shows that Clinton needs to deny or renounce any emotional involvement with this woman.
Lewinski's solar return Mars falls on Starr's natal Descendant and her solar return Uranus opposes his Pluto. She seeks a partnership with Starr which gives a sudden boost to his investigation and his power. Kenneth Starr's solar return Descendant is on Lewinski's North Node and his solar return Pluto is on her Neptune. He accepts an association with Lewinski because he has the power to save her from her own subterfuges and because he wants to reveal her secrets.
