Jupiter Retrograde

Although Jupiter is in Pisces, its own sign, the massive planet's usually benefic effect is weakened by retrograde motion from mid-July (28 Pisces 04) until mid-November (18 Pisces 10). Jupiter does not reach where it first stopped until early February 1999.

It does not regain full strength for our benefit until then, so prominent people, matters to do with the law, religion, politics, international relations and related matters seem to be out of control during this period.

At its mid-July retrograde station (July 11-24) Jupiter approached a trine to Ken Starr's natal Sun/Saturn (29 Cancer 19), suggesting that matters of law worked to his favour. It was at this time that Lewinski's lawyers began to negotiate an immunity deal with Starr. This is also when the historic subpoena of the President was issued (July 17). As Jupiter moved backwards, it approached an inconjunct to Clinton's Sun (26 Leo 43). This aspect suggests that Clinton was required to make personal readjustments or compromises because of a legal matter. Indeed this aspect was exact for the two days before Clinton testified on August 17, the time when he was preparing for his appearance before Starr's grand jury.

At its mid-November station, Jupiter approaches a square to Clinton's natal North Node (07 Gemini 59) from November 9 to 17. The Leonid Comet meteor shower on Nov. 18 clearly emphasises the suggestion that he is fated to face more legal conflict, perhaps even extreme judgement, at this time.

NOTE: A planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. This traditional concept arises in the illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth, with relation to other planets in our solar system.
Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this illusion.
Retrograde periods, although often problematic for us earthlings, are not uncommon.
