Subtle Meanings of the Full Moon in Scorpio [part three]

Malvin Artley concludes his discussion of the subtle meanings inherent in the Full Moon in Scorpio. This final part of the article explores the unfolding of Occult Law under the expression of the divine will as seen through the planetary configurations at the Wesak Celebration of 2004. Occult Law

All great events that happen simultaneously in the world are all energized from the same energy sources. This is occult law, and it is always thus. Energy is impersonal until it is appropriated and differentiated into forces and it affects all and sundry that it contacts either positively or negatively, depending upon the orientation of the person or organism. Given the fact that the energies impinging upon our globe have been so intense over the past few years it is small wonder that so many aspects of human interaction have been brought into prominence. Any increase of energy within an organism will show first at the weakest point within that organism. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, to put it another way. The myriad expressions and sentiments of separatism and materialism within human nature are without a doubt the weakest and most conflicted part of the human psyche and it is no accident that all those sorts of issues are being brought to the surface as we move inexorable onward into the New Age, both individually and collectively. The Middle East is an area of the world organism where these separatist feelings get expressed very strongly and there has been a great collective cry from people of goodwill everywhere for the problems in that area to be healed and balanced. It is also well-known in esoteric circles and generally sensed by people everywhere that unless resolution comes, and soon, that the consequences for all of us could be dire. A religious war there is to be avoided at all costs. The forces of separation and materialism have been energized as well, though, and their efforts to keep the status quo and to keep all sides warring are at the very center of the conflict going on there now.

Problem Areas

The Middle East is not the only problem area in the world, though. There is virtually not a single area of human interaction and relationship that does not need attention at some level. Neptune and Taurus are highlighting very many of them for us. The fact that Taurus is generally associated with materialism and resources brings part of the present world situation to light as well. The problem of money, of control and allocation of the worlds resources and of corporate greed needs a lot of attention this year. The world has been somewhat blind to the realities of the corporate mindset and of the power of religion in politics in the secular West and the Middle East. Indeed, the very validity of religious and current corporate strategy is being questioned on a large scale now and the seeds of new structures in both those areas are being sown everywhere. In this figure one thing that stands out clearly is the need for healing and resolution of religious differences as represented by the Neptune square and the need for a more just and proper utilization and distribution of the worlds resources as represented by Taurus.

The need for attention to resources is further highlighted for us by a conjunction of Venus with Mars in Gemini, where Mars conjoins another potent eclipse degree at 0 degrees of Cancer. It is known from a study of disasters and eclipses that malefic planets at the 0 degrees of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) and at the 15th degree of the fixed signs at the time of an eclipse will show the nature and timing of any disaster (if there is to be one) that comes out of such a configuration. There is a double emphasis on polarity in this conjunction with Mars and Venus indication male/female, Yin and Yang while Gemini goes to the very heart of duality itself and speaks of the fluidity of mind and the need to be flexible in our day-to-day dealings. This conjunction is a short dalliance before Venus turns retrograde on the 17th and retreats, crossing the face of Father Sun on the 6th of Jun and ushering in a new order of relationship on our planet. Venus opposes Pluto in this figure, which means that all relationships established under the augury of the Wesak Moon will be far-reaching in their effects, will go to the very core of the involved parties being and will leave no stone unturned as the relation between the higher Self and the persona of each party is firmly established and strengthened. All relationships ever reflect back to us the connection we each have with our own higher Self. Be assured that transformation in relationships will occur under this influence, or the relationship will come to its end. The greatest resource in human terms is our interrelatedness with each other and with other kingdoms and the blessings that can come from that.

Planetary Configurations

Mars is at the apex of a difficult triangular relationship with the Moon and Neptune, being in a sesquiquadrate aspect with each. Mars is the male side of the psyche and is a trigger point to release the tension indicated by the Moon/Neptune square. Mars in tense aspect with the Moon is known to give irascibility, a quick, sharp mind, strong opinions and a knee-jerk reaction to all circumstances. The Moon represents the past and the general populace in this figure and highlights the sort of tensions that are manifesting throughout the world at this timethe argumentative, reactionary state of world affairs in so many quarters. Mars in difficult aspect to Neptune is very inflammatory of glamour and is intensely magnetic in its effects. With this configuration we see that people will be drawn together in the crucible of their conflicts and that many an emotional display will be the catalyst for the clearing away of obstacles to greater freedom.

Jupiter forms the apex of the same sort of configuration with Chiron and Mercury as the other two planets. Jupiter opposes Uranus in this figure, as it has in many over the past months. Healing through dialog is the order of the year. The expansive power of Jupiter also draws people together and unites us toward a common goal and effort. The universal energies of Uranus give a constant challenge to stay open and free in our thoughts as we enter dialog together and seek to resolve or hammer out our differences and old wounds, whichever the case may be. The urge to better conditions is very apparent through Uranus, especially since it trines Saturn, and the new order of things will surely come.

Saturn is a meditative station in this figure and it forms only trines and sextilesindicators of blessing at many levels. Much of what is working out in the world, especially in the Middle East, is the resolution of old karmic scores. Saturn trines the Moon and Uranus and sextiles Jupiter. There is a profound opportunity here for a coming together of many and disparate factions for the work to be done. Many unusual and mutually beneficial scenarios are possible here and the challenge is to rise above limiting thinking to realize what is possible and do-able in world and personal affairs. There is always a tendency with people to dwell too much on what if when thinking about a situation. But, I would offer that, rather than seeing only doubts, possible failures and limitations on all sides, it is a far better proposition to live as if and to go forward into life with heart aflame, certain that we are embraced within the heart of God and that so long as we are true to what we can sense of higher Purpose, success in some form will always come of our actions. The power of the heart conquers absolutely everything.

Hence, each consummation, each union,
Each great cosmic unification
Is achieved through the flame of the heart.
The affirmation of the heart is already the revelation of the future.

I make no forecasts about what will come of this eclipse. Many times it is better to leave things unsaid with regard to possible futures and, indeed, it profits us little to project our thoughts into areas that are best left up to the workings of the higher Self. For much of what is going on in world affairs, help must be invoked and the best way to do that is in quiet reflection and united meditation deep. What we can attend to is our own local world and our own individual connection with the deep inner sanction within ourselves. The silence of the spirit shatters the commotion of outer disharmony and restores the intercourse between soul and form, between personal and universal. There is, in effect, naught else to be done for the vast majority of us. Energy draws like energy to itself and what we offer up to the spirit and the greater Good we get back by many increased magnitudes in return. It is like poking a small hole in a dam. When we contact the higher Self in those quiet moments, what starts as a trickle, a glimmer of Light, eventually becomes a river as the sheer force of the waters of Life exponentially wears away that which has held back those waters for so long. All we need do is maintain the contact and to keep the channel open. The Light of the higher Self will do the rest, and soon our world is aflood with Light, bathing all whom we encounter with the Light supernal which is but our Selves.

In the coming days, my dear friends, keep close to the pulsations and resounding of your heart as it thrills to the promise of every moment. Fear not the possible pain that may, and most certainly will, come of certain things. Such is as the kind cut of the great Surgeon as He restores our spiritual health. And, if you find yourself in such a place, bleed freely and with joy, for your future is assured if you but only keep your eye cast inward and upward and maintain your connection with Self and with your friends and community. This is a profoundly sacred time of year and the offerings are particularly great this year. The forces of Liberation move upon the waters of our inner nature. Better to enjoy the flowing stream and the crashing waves rather than enduring the stagnant cesspool of our stubbornness and fixity. Lastly, embrace your lives with a fiery heart that knows only Life and the fullness of Love. Cast aside all thought of limitation and live as if you are the majestic Life that ensouls youfor that is what you are. May the eternal Spirit that is each of you shower your lives with blessings, liberation and love in this coming year.
