Gemini the Twins in 2012
follow your bliss to be truly happy
The big news for you this year is idealistic Neptune entering Pisces and your 10th house of public standing on Feb. 3rd, making you long even more to get started on your dream career. Gemini often does well in fields that allow you to use your considerable imagination and creativity, and there is no better time to make a change than now. Sure, it might seem a little crazy to leave a regular 9 to 5 in the current world economy, but in the end, you have to follow your bliss to be truly happy and successful.
As a dual sign with another dual sign ruling your 10th house, it also makes perfect sense for you to have multiple career paths throughout your life. Even if changing careers isn't in your future, the public will begin to view you very differently (for better or for worse!) as Neptune will remain in your 10th house for several years. You may as well try to guide the energy down a path that will be authentic for you. Spend the first few months of the year carefully planning your course of action, and then once Jupiter enters your sign in June, move forward!
Philosophical Jupiter spends the first half of the year in your 12th house of solitude and meditation, deepening your compassion and appreciation of the natural beauty in life. Jupiter acts like a guardian angel here, shielding you from negativity if your past actions have been honorable. Allow yourself to spend time in your own personal cocoon, gaining strength for busier times to come. Even if you have never been remotely spiritual, Jupiter will expand your horizons regarding the mysteries of life, and can bring a peace upon you that may be very hard to describe or explain to others.
After June 11th, the Jolly Giant enters Gemini and your 1st house of personality, making you bigger than life. This can give you the energy and the confidence you need to put some of your dreams and plans into action. However, you may have a false start during the last week of June, when Jupiter and Neptune clash and create overconfidence. Go slowly, and take baby steps!
Saturn remains in Libra and your 5th house for most of 2012, indicating seriousness in matters related to children and creativity. You may be involved with the 'nuts and bolts' end of a creative production or have increased responsibilities with the children in your life, but either way you will have the opportunity to form and create something of substance. You can make a difference now, even if it's more work than play.
On October 5th, the Taskmaster enters your 6th house of health and service, insisting that you take a closer look at your daily routines and habits. Over the next two years, Saturn will demand that you become more structured, disciplined, and organized in the way you run your life… or risk poor health and reversals of fortune. But if you learn Saturn's lessons well, you stand to be rewarded greatly. The good news is, Saturn will be harmonizing well with Neptune, helping you to turn your dreams into reality. If you've never practiced creative visualization, you might want to read up on it now!
Relationships: the Journey to the Heart
The year begins with lovely Venus in Aquarius lighting up your 9th house of long distance travel and higher education. The weekend of the 13th is likely to be inspiring as Neptune joins forces with Venus, creating an ideal environment. After January 14th, the planet of love lights up your 10th house of career and reputation, giving you a bit more leverage at the bargaining table. It may be that another job is available for you… if you want it, go for it!
By the time Venus enters Aries and your 11th house of friends and associates on Feb. 9th, group support for you will be perfectly clear and you will have the opportunity to make some unusual new friends. After March 5th, the planet of love slips behind the scenes in your 12th house of secrets and solitude, urging you to show a little love to yourself. Slow down, take it easy, and let your spiritual and physical batteries have a chance to recharge.
You'll be glad you took time out for yourself, because after April 3rd, Venus sets up camp in Gemini and your 1st house of personality, where it will stay for some time to come. You will be in high demand whether you are the shy type or the extroverted Twin, so keep your calendar handy. Venus will commence retrograde motion on May 15th, causing you to feel like doing pretty much nothing if at all possible. And the world might just let you get away with it, but I highly recommend avoiding any 'something for nothing', too-good-to-be-true types of sales pitches. Also, avoid getting a makeover or new style during this time, as you may look back later and wonder, “What was I thinking?” An Eclipse on June 4th may bring relationship issues that you have been avoiding to a head. Work with this energy to put your valued commitments back on track, and you should be well on your way to resolution as Venus turns direct on June 18th.
What you value becomes more important as Venus moves into your 2nd house of what you own on August 7th. Venus can help improve your finances and make purchases that truly reflect your style and values, making this a great time to both shop and save. There is a danger of overspending on things you don't really need during the first few days of September, when Venus and Saturn don't agree.
After Sept. 6th, your words become golden as Venus graces your 3rd house of communication and community. Towards the end of the month, you might even enjoy some peppery banter as sexy Mars gets into the action… it will certainly be a good time for flirting. But you'll be ready to stay close to home after October 3rd, when Venus settles into your 4th house of family. It just so happens that Jupiter will turn retrograde at about the same time, signaling a period of introspection for you. May as well be reflective under your own roof!
You'll be ready for love and laughter again after Oct. 28th, when Venus blesses your 5th house of romance and creativity. The great news is that Saturn is no longer demanding heavy responsibility, giving you a chance to truly celebrate. True romance is a very real possibility in November. As the year ends, Venus makes camp in your 7th house of marriage and partnerships. With such glittering aspects, you may find yourself seriously considering a commitment on New Year's Eve. In all love relationships, consider the balance between what you need, what the other person needs, and what you need as a couple.
Home and Family
Funny thing about astrology… Just as Neptune inspires you to be all you ever dreamed of being in your career and public life, Mars takes a retrograde spin in your 4th house of home and family, demanding that you restructure how you do things at home. You will be challenged to do just that for the first six months of the year, so go ahead and just hammer things out at home while the time is right.
This is a great time to remodel or add to your home, as Mars will give you the energy. If your dream job entails working from home, you'll need to create a proper space where you can focus. You may also encounter some family opposition or interference that presents a challenge. If you can get everyone on the same page and see that you are on the same team, you should have smooth sailing by July.
Work and Health
Aside from Neptune's long awaited arrival in your tenth house of career, taskmaster Saturn will enter your 6th house of health and service in October, reminding you of your physical limitations. A developing chronic health condition could force you to be more structured in your daily routine and disciplined in your habits. Conditions involving the skin, joints, bones, and kidneys are most often activated by Saturn transits, so be sure to drink plenty of fresh water and treat yourself gently.
A huge factor here is stress… the better you are able to manage it in your life, the healthier you will be. The good news is, your health can benefit from a more serious approach to taking care of yourself, and you may be able to avoid illness in general by becoming more health conscious and responsible. Many of you may also find that your responsibilities at work will begin to increase as the year ends, but with that also comes the increased chance for recognition as 2013 begins.
Career and Finances
So many things can change for you this year, but you'll need to be focused and disciplined. Jupiter and Neptune are on your side, but they tend to be both nebulous and expansive at the same time. Structure is called for, so you'll need to come up with a plan that will help you move forward, one step at a time. Get rich quick schemes are a definite no-no… nothing good will come easy this year. However, things you have dreamed of all your life could become reality if you tackle the challenges in an organized fashion.
Your biggest challenge might be under your own roof, where concerns such as “how will the bills be paid?” might dampen your enthusiasm. The ideal circumstances can be achieved if you keep your eyes wide open and remain practical. Neptune will be in your 10th house of career and public image for several years to come, so consider this the first act in a brand new production of your life.
Ah, Mercury retrograde! You can expect your ruler to go retrograde three times a year for about three weeks each time. During retrogrades, you can expect miscommunication, delays in travel, and breakdowns in machinery and appliances. Usually these breakdowns are due to neglect or lack of attention to detail and the retrograde period simply brings this to the surface. It's often a good idea to hold off on making any important decisions, purchases, or signing contracts when Mercury is retrograde. Brides planning weddings should certainly consult an astrologer to avoid scheduling the Big Day during a retrograde! On the positive side, Mercury retrograde is excellent for research and investigation. It is a time to go over everything carefully, looking for loopholes, mistakes, and weaknesses. Here are this year's Mercury retrogrades and how they are likely to impact you:
March 12th – April 4th Mercury Retrograde in Pisces, 10th House
Progress at work may slow down considerably as Mercury turns retrograde in your 10th house of career and reputation. Plans that you have been making could hit a roadblock as not everyone comes through with what was previously promised. Communication with authority figures (including parents) may become muddled, leading to wrong assumptions and misunderstandings. Compassion and patience are called for, and by exercising empathy you may be able to solve problems in an unexpected manner. After April 4th, your public communications are back on track, giving you an opportunity to advance your career goals.
July 15th – August 8th Mercury Retrograde in Leo, 3rd House
Prepare for a classic comedy of errors as your ruler turns retrograde in your 3rd house of communication and community! Missed phone calls, mechanical failures, and detours are to be expected. There's not much you can do aside from try to have a good sense of humor and keep the information in your planner or agenda up-to-date. Make sure you write important information down and keep track of it to avoid being the one at fault. After Aug. 8th, the lines of communication open up again. Lost mail will be found and cancelled appointments rescheduled!
November 6th–26th Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio, 6th House
Health concerns may both vex and elude you during this time frame. Stress and nervous tension may be taking a toll, so try to find ways to slow down and rest a bit. This is not a good time to shop for clothes or order anything on line… shipments are more likely to be late or get lost in the mail. Problems at work could be compounded by poor communication or even underhanded tactics by less-than-honorable co-workers… keep your friends close and your enemies closer, as they say. Once Mercury turns direct on Nov. 26th, you can look forward to smooth sailing.
Lunar Life with Lady Moon
Your personal New Moon and a Solar Eclipse occurs on May 20th, signaling new beginnings for you. However, with Venus also retrograde in your sign, you may not be able to act immediately. Certain people in your life may not be ready to move forward, and you will have to take close relationships into consideration. This is a good time to consider your strategy in all of your personal goals, and then visualize your success. In just a matter of weeks, you should be well on the road to achieving your dreams.
Your Full Moon happens on November 28th, and will represent the culmination of what began back in May. This time, retrograde Jupiter in your sign makes it important for you to move forward with caution. The hand of cards you are holding is a good one, and you should be able to cash in on it, but you need to maintain the support of others. Keep in mind your relationships and how they have benefited you up until this point before making any important decisions.
Eclipses indicate change in the area of life they impact, and are often felt for much longer than regular lunations. In cases where the eclipse makes a close aspect to planets or angles in your chart, they can be felt for up to a year. Here is what to look for during the eclipse cycle of 2012:
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini on May 20th may signal a big change in your life. While you might not be able to make any changes immediately, your heart and mind will be made up after circumstances are clear to you. If you were born during the first decanate of Gemini, what happens during this time frame may impact you for up to a year.
A Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on June 4th only solidifies changes that began with the New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Gemini two weeks earlier. This time, your closest relationships are involved. It isn't just about you, of course… you'll need to take into consideration the needs and feelings of your mate or significant other. And there are always your open enemies… you can fully expect them to make a move to benefit themselves now.
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on Nov. 13th may signal the beginning of a health problem for you or possibly even one of your pets. If you stay in tune with your body's rhythms and pay attention to small changes in routine, you should be able to head trouble off at the pass. With Saturn now firmly in your 6th house of health, you'll need to adopt more responsible routines anyway. Structure and discipline will be your friend in day to day matters.
A New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on Nov. 28th echoes what was begun during the New Moon and Solar Eclipse on May 20th, when you were contemplating big changes in your life. You've had a chance now to see what your future may hold and have the opportunity to make adjustments and corrections as needed. The key is in making you that you involve those who are your closest allies… your success depends on not only you, but on how well you secure support!
